Cutting time
In spring and autumn, Ginkgo biloba can be propagated by cutting p>
When cutting in spring, you can choose the twigs of the current year. Generally, select the germinating new branches on the ginkgo plant, wait until they grow to the length suitable for cutting, and then take them down for cutting p>
If cutting is carried out in autumn, you can choose the mature branches born in that year. At this time, the newly born branches in that year have basically developed and enriched, so you can choose the branches with appropriate length as cuttings p>
Cuttings selection
When cultivating Ginkgo biloba, branches with terminal buds need to be selected for cutting. Generally, they are cut into branches with 3-5 sections, with a length of 10-15cm p>
The cuttings of Ginkgo biloba take root slowly, so you can stick the rooting powder on the part of cuttings to take root to improve the survival rate of cuttings p>
Cutting method
Put an appropriate amount of soil in the cutting container. Don't put it too full. It's usually 6-8 minutes full. Keep the soil moist. After inserting the cuttings into the soil, put them in a semi shady place for maintenance, which is conducive to the growth of roots p>
Generally, when cutting in autumn, you can see the adventitious roots coming out of the base of the cuttings in about 4 weeks, while the ginkgo cuttings soaked with rooting agent in advance have more new roots and higher survival rate p>
The surviving plants of Ginkgo biloba cut in spring can be moved to a round basin with a diameter of 7.5cm. The Ginkgo biloba cut in autumn can be transplanted before the germination of new leaves in the spring of the next year p>
