Sowing and propagation
Because the seed of Magnolia is relatively small, an artifact - toothpick can be used. Wet one end of the toothpick, and then stick the seeds to the surface of the substrate one by one. Cover it with about 1 cm of matrix. For some larger seeds, they can be directly placed in the matrix. The interval shall be 3 * 5cm during on-demand broadcasting. The substrate should also be covered after sowing. About 2 ~ 3 cm. After sowing, you must pay attention to moisturizing and spray. p>
Seed selection: another big task for breeding magnolia is to select good seeds. It is best to choose those seeds with fuller particles and no incomplete seeds, and prevent them from being eroded by diseases and pests. It would be better if it were the seed of that year. After selection, don't forget to disinfect and promote germination of the seeds p>
Cutting propagation
In late spring and early autumn, you can also use the tender branches of Magnolia for cutting. Here, it is best to choose the new branches of that year. The matrix of cutting can be nutrient soil, or a mixture of peat soil and river sand. The river sand in saline alkali areas should not be used, because the salt content is too high, which will hinder the growth of plants p>
When selecting cutting branches, we should also choose the plants with good growth and strong branches. After cutting off the branches, they need to be cut into sections. Each section should preferably have 3 leaf nodes, and the length should not exceed 15 cm p>
