Budding
Basically, all dicotyledonous woody plants can propagate by budding. But the difference between durian and other fruit pens is that durian can't wrap all the buds, mainly because the bud on durian's bud is easy to fall off, and you can know whether it has survived after two weeks. If the flower survives, it should be cut off at the upper end of its rootstock about 30 cm away from the bud to promote the more rapid growth of the bud eye. In the future, the rootstock will also produce a lot of rootstock branches, but these rootstock branches should not be cut off. One or two branches should be left to promote the absorption of nutrients by buds, and the remaining rootstock branches should be pruned frequently p>
Split joint
Seedlings that sprout before they open leaves or become wood are best used as rootstocks. After splitting, cover a whole seedling with plastic bags and put it in a cool place. If the leaves used for scion do not fall off after 2 to 3 weeks, it means success p>
Cutting
Cutting requires a 15 cm long branch tip with a diameter similar to that of a child's thumb. Several leaves are needed on the branch tip, and 2 / 3 of each leaf should be cut off to reduce the evaporation of water. The lower end of the branch tip needs to be obliquely cut by 1 cm from bottom to top. After applying rooting agent, it can be inserted into a wet cup. Put it in a greenhouse with weak light and water it properly. After about 7 to 8 weeks, the leaves do not fall off and the young roots have grown, so it can be put in a plastic bag p>
Other
Durian also has the method of reproduction by contact, but it is only suitable for a small amount of reproduction. In addition, there are propagation methods such as aerial layering and branch and shoot abdominal connection p>
