Pick the heart
When pruning, we should keep the buds needed for growth. If there are redundant new buds, we need to prune them in time. Generally, the number of buds left can be selected according to the size of the flowerpot when planting. More retained buds can also ensure the number of flowers, so it should be considered carefully p>
Poinsettia should be pinched twice during its growth, and the first pinching treatment should be carried out around the middle of June. When Poinsettia grows to 15 cm, about three knots should be kept. In late August, the pinching can be carried out according to the needs. If the branches need more, a few more sections can be reserved, and the pinching height can be reduced without too much. Generally speaking, it is more appropriate to keep five to nine flower heads of poinsettia, because if there are too many buds, the demand for water and fertilizer will increase, which is easy to cause untimely supply, and the branches will grow thinner and the flower buds will be smaller p>
Dwarfing
Poinsettia has a standard height ratio, but it is very difficult to control the height, which is what many people want to know. Generally, it needs to be controlled by pruning. Its growth height can be adjusted by pruning the top to make it branch around. A simple pruning can be carried out when changing the basin, and the redundant branches can be cut off, leaving a few fixed ones. At the beginning of cutting, the height can be adjusted to 10 cm, and then the higher part can be cut off, and then two to three branches can grow. If it is a plant that has been growing for several years, you can leave two buds in the root and cut off all the rest to concentrate nutrients on the growth of new branches p>
