Treatment of seeds

September to October is the mature period of Bauhinia seeds. At that time, we can see many fruit pods hanging all over the branches. At this time, we can pick the mature pods, open the pods along the cracks of the pods and take out the seeds

After that, the seeds will be dried, buried under the cool dry sand, placed in a room of about 5 ℃ for winter, and sown after the spring of next year

After the spring of the next year, the seeds need to be soaked in hot water at 60 ℃ for about 72 hours to make the seeds absorb water and expand. Then soak in warm water until the radicle of the seed elongates to expose white buds, which can be used for sowing

Ground planting method

Generally speaking, Bauhinia will be planted in the way of land planting, and the method of land planting varies according to the number of planting

In case of large-scale planting, first prepare the seedbed for seedling raising. Sprinkle the treated seeds on the seedling bed and take good care of them. They will germinate in about two weeks. At this time, proper attention should be paid to thinning

After that, you need to choose a land suitable for seed germination and prepare the nursery. When the young plant grows to 4 leaves, it can be removed from the seedling bed and planted according to the row plant spacing of 60cmx40cm

If the number of planting is small, it can be sown directly at the selected position. Before sowing, you need to turn the land deeply, 30cm. Pick out the larger stones in the soil and apply some base fertilizer

Then dig some small holes according to the number of planting. The depth of the hole is 2cm. Note that the spacing between holes should be about 40cm, not too small, otherwise it may affect the normal growth of plants

After that, the treated seeds are scattered into the small hole seeds, and then covered with a layer of soil to smooth the soil surface. Finally, water around the seeds to keep the soil moist

Potting method

In addition to ground planting, Bauhinia can also be planted in pots
