Time of changing Basin

The best time to change pots is in the dormancy or growth period of plants. At this time, the damage to the potted plants is minimal, and the potted plants recover quickly. If your flowers are dying, don't worry about the time to change the pots

Most potted plants can be planted in spring and autumn, and the temperature can be 15-20 ℃

Note: the pot cannot be changed during the growth period, slow seedling period and flowering period of plants

Steps for changing Basin

1、 Debasing:

Before removing the basin, first control the water. Do not water the basin within 3 ~ 5 days before taking off the basin. It is easy to take off the basin when the basin soil is half dry

Note that the root system must carry soil. The root system can be properly trimmed and the old basin soil can be properly removed, but the soil in the middle of the root system must not be moved

2、 Pruning

Use scissors to cut off rotten roots and old roots. If there are dead leaves, cut off the dead leaves together

Apply carbendazim powder on the knife edge for sterilization

3、 Prepare new basin soil

1. If the plant has been shaped, you can change the pot with a flower pot of the same size. If the plant is still growing, it is necessary to change a larger flowerpot

2. Prepare new soil, which can be prepared by yourself or purchased directly. If you want to use old soil, pay attention to the sun exposure first, sterilization and disinfection

3. Before adding soil, it is best to pad some broken tiles or ceramsite at the bottom of the basin to increase the ventilation of the soil, and add a small amount of base fertilizer, such as sterilized chicken manure and cake fertilizer, to increase the soil fertility

4、 Shangxin Basin

Straighten the plant and put it into a new basin. Sprinkle new soil while gently shaking the plant

After the new soil is replaced, the root fixing water shall be poured once, that is, the water shall be poured thoroughly, and the water can flow out from the basin bottom

Precautions after changing Basin

After changing pots, put the plants in a cool place for maintenance for a period of time. After about 1 week, move it to a well lit and ventilated place for normal maintenance

No fertilizer can be applied within 3 months after changing pots

Clivia, orchid, etc. usually change the basin once every 2 ~ 3 years. Plants with fast root growth such as Chlorophytum had better change the basin once a year
