1、 Breeding environment

1. Soil: select sandy soil with good drainage, and the pH is about 6-7

2. Illumination: give proper illumination. When irradiating with strong light, pay attention to shading. In addition, ensure sufficient illumination

3. Temperature: it is cold resistant and can endure frost for a short time. Keep 15-18 ℃ in flowering period and 10-12 ℃ in growth period. Ensure the low temperature period from January to February in dormancy period. Keep it at about 2-6 ℃ and put it in the refrigerator

4. Moisture: in northern China, plants just planted should not be watered within half a month. At other times, they should be watered when they are dry; During the dormancy period, water occasionally and place the accumulated water in the basin

2、 Breeding method

1. Sowing and propagation: generally used in cultivating new varieties. When sowing, the seeds shall be scattered and sown in the culture soil first, and the soil with a thickness of 1cm shall be covered. It will germinate around the end of January next year. The flower seedlings cultured in this way can blossom after 4-5 years

2. Split ball propagation: split ball propagation is more common than seed propagation. After digging out the bulbs in summer, separate the naturally grown large and small balls. After replanting, the big ball can bloom in spring, while the sub ball takes about 3 years to bloom. Generally, the female parent can produce 1-2 sub balls after planting for one year. In order to improve the ball division rate, it can be divided manually, that is, castrate the big ball during dormancy to stimulate it to grow sub balls

3、 Precautions

1. In summer, remove the bulbs, dry them in a cool place and store them at low temperature

2. During the dormancy period, you can water but do not need topdressing, otherwise it will affect the dormancy of the plant
