1、 Pruning method
1. Short cut: cut off one section of the long branch. If half or 1 / 3 of the long branch is cut off, it is a heavy short cut. This practice can stimulate the lower bud and promote the faster growth of the new branch p>
2. Thinning: thinning the over dense branches is conducive to the growth of branches and buds under the cutting mouth and increase the internal light p>
3. Pruning: cutting off the branches that have been growing for many years can make the old tree strong again p>
2、 Proper cutting
Pruning Prunus deltoides can not be cut casually, but should be cut to an appropriate height and length. The direction and space of the cutting bud determine the quality and growth of the new shoot. The appropriate cut can be flat cut or oblique cut, which can leave enough space for the growth of buds, but pay attention not to leave the cut too far away from the cut buds, leaving too many branches to consume nutrition, and the section should not be too inclined p>
3、 Precautions
Three branches can be trimmed at one flowering stage. A vigorous shearing shall be carried out from March to April in spring; The second pruning shall be carried out after the first branch grows high in about 20 days; The third time shall not exceed the middle of August at the latest p>
The purpose of pruning branches is to cut out layers so that all branches are exposed to light, so the vertical downward branches and Cross branches should be removed; Parallel branches can remove weak branches; After flowering, the over dense branches, overgrown branches and weak branches shall be thinned p>
