How to Plant a Genip Tree

Genip trees are known for their sweet and sour fruit, which is a favorite snack in the Caribbean and Latin America. If you want to grow your own genip tree, here's how:

Choose the Right Location

Genip trees prefer sunny areas with well-draining soil. If you live in a tropical or subtropical region, you can plant your genip tree outside in your yard. Otherwise, you can plant your genip tree in a large container and keep it indoors or on a balcony.

Prepare the Soil

Before planting, dig a hole that is twice as wide and twice as deep as the root ball of your genip tree. Mix in some organic matter, such as compost or aged manure, to the soil to improve its fertility and drainage.
