How to Plant a Cactus in a Pot

Cacti are a popular choice of houseplants due to their unique appearance and low maintenance requirements. However, planting a cactus in a pot requires some care and attention to ensure that it thrives in a suitable environment. Here are the steps to plant and care for your own cactus in a pot:

Choose the Right Pot and Soil

To increase humidity levels, you can place a shallow tray of water near the cactus, but be sure not to allow the pot to sit in standing water.

Fertilize as Needed

Cacti do not require frequent fertilization, but you can give them a boost by applying a fertilizer specifically designed for cacti and succulents once or twice per year. Follow the package instructions carefully, and be sure not to over-fertilize, as this can harm the plant.
