How to Plant Lemon Tree from Branch

Step 1: Obtain a Healthy Branch from a Lemon Tree

The first step is to obtain a healthy branch from a lemon tree that you want to plant. Look for a branch that is approximately 8-10 inches long and has a few leaves on it. Make sure the branch is not diseased or damaged. When you cut the branch, make a clean cut at a 45-degree angle with sharp, sterilized pruning shears.

Step 2: Prepare the Branch for Planting

Remove any leaves from the bottom two-thirds of the branch. This will help the branch focus on growing roots rather than supporting leaves. If the branch has any fruit or buds, remove them as well.
