How to Plant Green Peppers in a Pot
If you're looking to grow your own green peppers, but you don't have access to a large outdoor garden, planting them in a pot is a great alternative. Not only do potted plants take up less space, they are also easier to maintain and control than plants grown in the ground. Here are the steps you can follow to successfully grow green peppers in a pot:
Step 1: Choose a Large Pot
Since green pepper plants can grow up to 2-3 feet tall and 2 feet wide, it's important to choose a pot that will give them enough room to spread out. A pot that is at least 12 inches in diameter and 12 inches deep is recommended, but you can go bigger if you have the space. Make sure the pot has adequate drainage holes in the bottom.
Step 2: Prepare the Soil
Fill the pot with a good quality potting soil. You can mix in some compost or worm castings to provide additional nutrients for the plants. Before you plant the peppers, make sure the soil is moist but not waterlogged.
