How to Plant Gladiolus Bulbs in Pots India

Gladiolus is a popular spring and summer blooming plant. The tall spikes of brightly colored flowers add a touch of elegance and charm to any garden or patio. Here are the steps to follow.

Step 1: Choose the Right Pot

The first thing you need to do is choose a pot that is at least 12 inches deep and wide enough to accommodate the number of bulbs you want to plant. The pot should have drainage holes at the bottom to prevent waterlogging, and it should be made of a material that allows air circulation, such as terracotta, plastic, or metal. You can also add a layer of gravel or broken pot pieces at the bottom of the pot to improve drainage.

Step 2: Prepare the Soil

The soil you use should be well-draining and rich in nutrients. You can either prepare your own mix by combining equal parts of sandy loam, compost, and perlite, or you can buy a pre-made mix from your local nursery or garden center. Fill the pot with the soil mix, leaving about 2 inches of space at the top.
