How to Plant Fuyugaki Persimmon Tree

Fuyugaki persimmons are known for their sweet, juicy and seedless fruits, which makes them a popular choice for home gardens. If you're planning to plant a Fuyugaki persimmon tree in your garden, here's a guide on how to get started:

Choosing the Right Spot

The first step in planting a Fuyugaki persimmon tree is choosing the right location. These trees require full sunlight, so pick a spot that gets at least six hours of direct sun each day. The soil should also be well-draining, friable and with a pH of 6.0 to 7.5. Persimmons can adapt to various soil types, but it’s generally best to avoid heavy clay or sandy soil.

Preparing the Soil

Before planting your Fuyugaki persimmon tree, prepare the soil by digging a hole that’s twice as wide and deep as the root ball. Incorporate a generous amount of organic matter, such as compost or aged manure, to improve the soil structure, increase drainage, and provide important nutrients.
