How to Plant Tomato Seeds in Containers

Growing tomatoes in containers is a great way to add fresh, home-grown produce to your kitchen even if you don’t have a lot of outdoor space. If you’re new to growing tomatoes, don’t worry – it’s easy to get started. Here are the steps to plant tomato seeds in containers:

1. Choose Your Container

Tomatoes need a container that is at least 16 inches in diameter and 24 inches deep. If you’re planting more than one tomato plant, be sure to space them at least 2 feet apart. You can use any type of container as long as it has proper drainage holes at the bottom. Some popular options include plastic pots, wooden crates, and hanging baskets.

2. Prepare Your Soil

Tomatoes prefer a fertile, well-draining soil that is slightly acidic with a pH level between 6.0 – 6.8.
